Dafni: We have already tested the electric
straightening brush. Does it work?
They call it the comb of the future and promises a professional straightening without static electricity 9 times faster. The Observer changed the board for the straightening brush and shows him the video result.
At first glance, an electric straightening brush looks just like a modern comb - with buttons and a digital LCD display - that promises to restore shine and smoothness to your hair. The difference is that when turned on, it heats up to 230 degrees and promises effortless professional straightening and nine times faster than traditional hair straighteners. The brush of the future - as they call it - is still designed with ceramic plates and special bristles that, in addition to smoothing, massaging the scalp. But does it really work? The Observer replaced the straightening board with the electric straightening brush and decided to test the invention in a video you can see at the top of this article. After plugging in the cord and adjusting the temperature (from 80 to 230 ° C), it takes a little over a minute to warm up. With dry hair, you must first detangle it with a regular brush and then slowly comb through the lock with the electric straightening brush. If you have thick, curly, textured or just long hair, you should set the temperature to maximum to make straightening easier because the brush will cool down. The entire method is very practical and easy but note that, compared to boards and irons smooth, it is harder to stretch the hair tips (which makes the process as much or more time consuming than the smoothing with a traditiona board l ). The good news is that individual thermal plates produce a flow of ions that, in fact, suppress static electricity, do not so much damage the locks, reduce the frizziness and shine even the most unruly hair. Already the special bristles superficially massage the scalp and straighten the hair while combing it. Check out Dafni Hair Brush Review for more details. |
The ergonomic shape, anti-burn pads and internal insulation cover make this innovation a great replacement for the aggressive straightening plates on the market. However, like a brush, it also easily gets tangled in thick, textured hair which makes it crucial to comb your hair beforehand and preferably apply a heat shield to protect the locks from high temperatures. The straightening brush is on sale for € 22.5 online (plus € 6 for shipping to mainland Portugal and € 9 for Azores and Madeira) and in specialty stores. The billing deadline is 4-10 business days after ordering.
The verdict
Strengths: Practical and easy straightening method that removes static electricity from hair, shines and combs hair at the same time.
Weaknesses: The result is not perfect (the hair ends are not straightened well) and the brush easily gets tangled in thick and textured hair.
